We will indicate here the main chapters of this document in order to better understand the essence of this document.<\/p>\n<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1315 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/rdosprings.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/spirale-ressort-300x218.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"166\" height=\"119\" \/> <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The first part recalls the distinction between coiled <strong>compression springs<\/strong> :<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Hot<\/strong>: the steel compression spring is &#8220;forged&#8221; and then shaped. It undergoes quenching and tempering to maintain the characteristics of the spring.<br \/>\n<strong>Cold<\/strong>: the steel compression spring is cold-formed, and does not undergo any treatment after manufacture other than stabilization in furnaces to preserve its characteristics.as well as the different existing standards for cold wound <strong>compression springs<\/strong> for standard features (wire diameter &lt;= 16mm, free length &lt;= 1000 mm, average diameter &lt;= 200 mm &#8230;) :<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.boutique.afnor.org\/recherche\/resultats\/mot\/13906\">NF EN 13906\u00a0-1<\/a> : European Standard &#8220;Cylindrical helical springs made from round wires and bars &#8211; Calculation and design &#8211; Part 1: <strong>Compression springs<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.boutique.afnor.org\/recherche\/resultats\/mot\/15800\">NF EN 15800<\/a> : European Standard &#8220;Cylindrical helical springs made of round wire &#8211; Quality requirements for <strong>cold-formed compression springs<\/strong>&#8220;.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-1874 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/rdosprings.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/compression8-300x206.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"155\" height=\"106\" 155px) 100vw, 155px\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The second part, (page 14), explains all the characteristics of <strong>compression springs<\/strong> defined in standard <strong>NF EN 13906<\/strong>.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Each chapter of the list below is commented and associated tables will help you better understand the requirements.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Environmental requirements (type of material, working temperature, etc.))<\/li>\n<li>Desired space requirement (including functional play)<\/li>\n<li>Operating range (generally between 30 and 70% of its maximum deflection)<\/li>\n<li>Choice of the diameter (which will influence the requested load)<\/li>\n<li>Calculation of shear stress load(E1), number of useful coils(E2), spring stiffness, deflection under load (S)<\/li>\n<li>Cohesion and verification of these calculated constraints<\/li>\n<li>Tolerances (according to EN 15800) on diameter, load, perpendicularity and parallelism of ground springs<\/li>\n<li>As well as a guide for the establishment of a standard plan and the drafting of the main coasts that will be included in it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1873 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/rdosprings.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/compression7-300x206.png\" alt=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/rdosprings.com\/?page_id=1863&amp;lang=en\"><strong>compression springs<\/strong><\/a>.<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Preparation and preservation of the raw material<\/li>\n<li>Winding direction of the compression spring (which will influence the overall geometry)<\/li>\n<li>Heat treatment to be considered (depending on the steel grade) for stabilization and &#8220;stress relieving&#8221; (relaxation of residual stresses)<\/li>\n<li>The pre-conformation (initial load on the spring to bring it to better respond to the stresses &#8211; the so-called blocking operation).<\/li>\n<li>Grinding of the ends (which will be necessary in case of a flat bearing surface)<\/li>\n<li>Surface treatment (shot blasting, tribofinishing, passivation &#8230;)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1877 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/rdosprings.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/compression11-300x206.png\" explains the inspection operations to be carried out and the instruments recommended for the characteristics of the <strong>compression springs<\/strong> produced.<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Outside and inside diameters (Calipers, bushings, pins)<\/li>\n<li>Lengths and loads: free length without load, or block length under load, with tare machines<\/li>\n<li>Perpendicularity (Squares, profile projector or optical measurement)<\/li>\n<li>Visual checks (winding direction, chamfering, grinding)<\/li>\n<li>Fatigue tests, chemical tests<\/li>\n<li>Material used (material certificate to be provided according to NF EN 10204)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Finally, this document recommends for the realization of these parts :<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>An adapted <a href=\"\/?page_id=2010&amp;lang=en\">quality approach<\/a>, with <strong>SPC<\/strong> and <strong>FMECA controls<\/strong>, respect for traceability, controlled machine and process capabilities, verified and calibrated control, measuring and testing equipment&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>To work in <strong>PPM<\/strong> (number of good or bad parts per million parts produced)<\/li>\n<li>Make sure you have reliable sources for the raw material which can contain various defects if not controlled: inclusions, roughness, scratches, manufacturing heterogeneity,
