FINAL TREATMENT OF THE MANUFACTURED SPRING :
In order to guarantee the characteristics in the long term, chemical treatments can be carried out:
- Tribofinishing
- Passivation
- Sub-contracting operations (painting, cataphoresis, complex chemical treatments)
TRIBOFINISHING :
This is a cleaning process for carbon and stainless steels to remove the scale layer by stirring with ceramic abrasives including the addition of an anticorrosive product.
This process is used for parts that must be perfectly clean.

PASSIVATION :
Passivation is a treatment process for stainless steel parts to restore the protective layer against spring corrosion.
RDO Springs is the first European spring manufacturer that has integrated a passivation line in its manufacturing process. The products are processed in an ISO-8 clean room.
The products pass successively through different baths to be treated. Some twenty specific processes have been defined and validated to obtain our customers’ desired performance
The products are then transferred to a packaging line located in the same room. They are bagged immediately to ensure no third party pollution.
SUBCONTRACTING OPERATIONS :
Multiple operations can be performed on the springs. Our partners, located near our production facility, can perform different post-production treatments:
- Painting, gilding
- Cataphoresis,
- Degreasing
- Complex chemical treatments; cadmium plating, copper plating, dichromate plating, tin plating, electrolytic treatments
- Oil quench
- ….
OUR RECOMMENDATIONS :
The manufacture of springs is based on several international standards that define tolerances and the standard manufacturing process.
RDO Springs is certified ISO 9001 (Quality) and EN 9100 (Quality ++: Aerospace and Defense sectors) proving its considerable expertise in this field.
There are no so-called “standard” springs. Each spring is specific and requires an appropriate approach so we can meet your requirements.
